This design was included within the 2006 Smithsonian Institute exhibit, "Modernism." in American Silver: 20th. Century Design. In great to excellent condition, with minor interior base bottom wear, just needs a better polishing, otherwise the exterior body is in excellent condition as one can see from the images inclusive herein. The Cocktail pitcher looks as if it was gifted to initials, B.K.M. with engraved date below this of, 8 - 27-65, below this there are significant engraved names as well. Don McPherson, Denny Evans, John Ellis, Dave Miller, Mark Evans, and Jack Ward. The bottom base has a simple, yet refined linear outer edge, coupled with the handle, and the accentuated height, it sets off a sophisticated flare of a well designed piece f barware, and perfect for any office/den/bar/social soiree and never cocktails and bar carts galore. Marked on the underside Gorham, E and Anchor P, YC845,(perhaps production identifier for type of piece), as well as below this the amount of oz. 40.ozs. From an Upstate, NY Estate. As an offshoot, and perhaps, but not officially claimed and authenticated, one of the listed engraved names is Don McPherson; who was a Syracuse University Football player and NFL Quarterback, born in 1965, perhaps this was made as a moment, given as a gift, along with name some buddies, ex-footballers from the College, etc. We cannot ascertain for sure, but has provenance worthy inclusion. In great condition. less
