The original dark finish has worn in places particularly on the top surface, leaving a beautiful, characterful patina.
It was produced during the mid 19th century and originally would have been used for serving food and drink or as a modest display surface in a Chinese home. Today it makes a nicely proportioned small console table, perfect for displaying an oriental lamp, flower vases or ornaments. less
