Description: We are selling this great little Chinese bronze. This early looking bronze is of a creature that looks like an … more We are selling this great little Chinese bronze. This early looking bronze is of a creature that looks like an elephant but probably represents a mythical beast with flames and spots. The bronze appears to have originally been fire gilded and has still accumulated a patina so it may date from the 17th or 18th century or earlier. We believe it is intended as a scroll weight or scholar's object.

Condition: Damage to tail. Gilt surface has been lost.
