This refined Mid-Century Modern chandelier was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. Executed in handblown white Murano glass, brass with tan leather supports, this stunning fixture was inspired by the renaissance hats called the Ducal Horn- a stiff horn-like bonnet- worn by the Doges (or chief magistrates) of Venice. This chandelier has a amorphic asymetrical white Murano glass body ringed at its base in polished brass. It attaches to a cylindrical brass canopy via three leather supports. With its understated elegance and organic modernist aesthetic, this piece is as versatile as it is aesthetically compelling, blending perfectly with any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It is in excellent vintage condition. The height can be adjusted to suit.
