A super nice antique pair of Ming style Officials chairs with solid figured satin smooth mature rosewood. Very well made high end armchairs utilizing solid mortise & tenon construction.
Generous proportions and totally stable.
Comfortable, very usable and exquisitely beautiful.
Fitted & tied navy plush blue cushions upholstered in an elegant Chinoiserie style fabric with traditional figures, orange/peach chrysanthemums, pink cherry blossoms, white and yellow/gold iris and birds . Cushions fully upholstered on both sides finished with navy braid & ties to keep them in place.
No markings.
Condition is excellent.
2nd half 20th Century.
