The exhibition poster print is published by The Gagosian Gallery in New York in an unnumbered limited edition for the exhibition " In Beauty it is Finished : Drawings 1951 - 2008 ". It features an untitled artwork image created by the artist Cy Twombly in 2001, courtesy of The Cy Twombly Foundation.
Cy Twombly ( 1928 - 2011 ) is an American born Abstract Expressionist painter, sculptor and photographer. The predominately large scale freely scribbled, calligraphic and graffiti like works shift toward romantic symbolism interpreted visually through shapes, forms, colors, and words. Twombly is said to have influenced younger artists such as Jean Michel Basquiat, Anselm Kiefer, Francesco Clemente and Julian Schnabel. Artworks by Twombly are included in the collections of many prestigious museums.
