A lovely Japanese Boy Doll wearing traditional Japanese clothing Hakama. He is holding a scroll in one hand. His hair style is of Edo era. Different silk fabrics were used for his Hakama, and it looks like it was partially renewed later. His bare feet stand on a lacquered brown wood stand, which possibly also was added in the early 20th century. Delicate and detailed. Unsigned. Excellent condition - minor age wear on finish. Japan, Edo to Meiji Era, circa 1850s to 1920s.
