Description: Mesmerizing Art Nouveau cabinet or buffet by August Ungethüm from Austria, circa 1900. Designed and produced by the famous art … more Mesmerizing Art Nouveau cabinet or buffet by August Ungethüm from Austria, circa 1900. Designed and produced by the famous art furniture factory of A. Ungethüm in Vienna, the fine mahogany buffet stands out with a very unique design. The upper part impresses with an absolute fantastic looking inlayed copper design and hosts a compartment with two doors showing twenty-four small faceted glass windows. The open middle section with a facet cut mirror in the back still holds the original black marble plate which is in a very good condition. Underneath you find a large drawer with lovely copper fittings. The lower and also largest part offers a lot of space divided into three compartments and hides behind two very artful made doors with darker mahogany fields adorned by elaborate made copper inlays. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
