Co. was, and still is, a Chicago-based elevator parts manufacturer and distributor. I believe this plate to be dated somewhere in the early 1920s. It is a beautifully unique bronze cast that is 16" tall and 3" wide. I have never seen this pattern/style at any other time in my life, on anything; so I brought it to several local Chicago salvage yards for their opinion, but they too were unfamiliar with it. This leads me to hypothesize that R. H. Co. produced a very limited amount of these antique cast bronze panels for a small to mid-sized Chicago building, therefore creating such a small supply means that, over time, there would be an extremely low amount of inventory available for purchase the future. less
