This gorgeous midcentury ceramic charger or bowl was produced by Gordon and Jane Martz for Marshall Studios. They met at the New York State College of Ceramics. In 1951, they joined the Marshall Studios in Veedersburg, Indiana, which was founded by Jane’s grandmother in 1922. From 1951 through 1989, they produced a wide variety of ceramics, from tile to lamps to decorative items. I do not know the exact age of the piece, but it may have been made in the 1960s.
The neutral colors would work in any decor style. The piece is in excellent condition.
