Steel frame with wooden seat and backrest - Height adjustable - Original brown paint - Branded "Rowac" on one leg - Original maker badge to the underside of the seat - Made by Robert Wagner, Chemnitz - Model XIII - German ~ 1920s.
38cm wide x 42cm deep x 85cm tall - 43cm seat height at its lowest and 60 at it's highest.
Robert Wagner’s founded his company in 1888 in Chemnitz, better known as Rowac. His products stood for functional excellence, and were designed to provide the highest quality of healthy seating. Robert Wagner’s designs were so much respected by the founder of the Bauhaus movement Walter Grophius, that he had all Bauhaus workshops equipped with Rowac furniture.
Original condition with some light patina, a historic weld on the base. This piece has an attribution mark,
