Description: A sumptuous engraved wooden panel depicting panthers in the bush by N.R. Brunet (France, 20th Century). Art Deco design typical … more A sumptuous engraved wooden panel depicting panthers in the bush by N.R. Brunet (France, 20th Century). Art Deco design typical of the period, N.R. Brunet is known for his bronze sculptures representing felines. The engraving works done on a wooden plaque are less known if not unknown until now. The panel is incised very deeply with details on the anatomy of the feline (see close-up views) and an application of golden paint increases the depth and the rendering. The engraved signature on the bottom right corner reads NR Brunet.
The wooden carved plaque is laid in relied on the original waxed oak frame.
