The Scalamandre zebra quatrefoil planter is for all of us design adventurers. Featuring the iconic blue denim "zebras" Scalamandre pattern, the porcelain centerpiece planter is shaped to hold four---6" diameter plant containers. Perfect with a spray of white orchids or assorted green plants the container is accented with dark pewter finished metal feet. We also suggest using the planter for fresh flowers--as it holds water; or for entertaining as a wine bucket. Simply line the bottom with a towel or bubble wrap for protection, then add ice. Perfect on the buffet sideboardA little background history: Originally designed in the 1940's for the Gino of Capri restaurant, lovingly known as "Ginos" by New Yorkers, Scalamandre restored the Zebras wallcovering in the upper east side institution in the 1970's after it was destroyed in a fire. Flora Scalamandre, wife of Franco, free handed the signature motif that would come to known as the iconic Sclamandre zebras. The pattern is celebrated the world over in design and in the movies. It was featured in the "Royal Tannebaums" and "Mightly Aphrodite". The pattern design has grown in color offerings and mediums. Measurement: 8" H x 14" diameter. Materials: porcelain
