Charles … more Beautiful and large oil on canvas signed Charles Perron (1893-1958) representing the entrance to a village in early fall.
Charles Perron received training at the Nantes School of Fine Arts (1909-1913), then at the School of Fine Arts in Paris (1913-1914 and 1919-1921). Between 1914 and 1919, not mobilized for health reasons, he held a teacher position in Nantes. He obtained the second Grand Prix of Rome in 1921. From 1936 to 1945, he was a curator of the Museum of Fine Arts in Nantes.
The artist makes a poetic work here with soft lights evoking his certain affinity for nature and the country scenes.
This landscape illustrates several houses with orange tiles characteristic of homes in the south of the Loire. Our gaze arises on the extent of water with luminous reflections contrasting with the fall colors of vegetation and dwellings.
Charles Perron performs shades and gradients, combining soft colors gently faded. There is a feeling of appeasement and calm. The weather is suspended.
This unique work includes the artist's signature at the bottom left and a plate centered in the lower part bearing the inscription: "Charles Perron - Prix de Rome"
Surrounding the canvas, a magnificent carved wooden frame goes perfectly with this bucolic scene. Rich in ornaments, it has stylized moldings and sculptures forming arabesques.
Charles Perron signs here a harmonious and nuanced work immortalizing a country scene with sensitivity.
