Direct from France, an elegant antique French carved library table or "bureau plat" desk, commonly referred to as a "dolphin" table, for the ornately carved "dolphin" feet.

Petite size for this style, making it perfect for a companion desk or sofa table…wonderfully versatile for use in today's home. Incredible detailed carving, captivating features. Ornate, relief carved lion masks on the canted corners and carved French gadrooning on the wide frieze. Carved lion mask drawer handle (full length dovetailed drawer).

Carved on all sides, perfect for placement anywhere in a room because there's not a "back side". Double legs on each side, hand carved, baluster shape. Renaissance flair and mythical “dolphin” sea creature feet. Large carved stretcher provides stability and support. Solid oak with a dark finish, well built by craftsmen of the period. c1880.

30.25” height x 33” x 23.5” (very petite for this style!)
