This piece was inspired by pieces that were wood mascarading as folded paper. This one playfully slipped away from that group. It is a triangle attached to a geometric base both made of wood composite. The base is 3/4 inch thick and the triangle is 1/4 inch thick. There is a 1/4 inch spacer between the tow pieces and half inch thick spacers on the back for additional depth.
The base piece is painted in a warm red with dark blue overlaid in sgraffito. On that is a clear acrylic combed texture and a purplish-magenta iridescent reflective layer on that. One of the later detail photos shows this reflection.
The triangular top piece is painted with blue on blue sgraffito and then overlaid with cut strips of multi-colored papers.
The edge of the left side is warm green and the other sides of the base piece are painted black. It has a fun vibe!
