Ferrante was inspired by the masters of the posillipo school, including antonio pitloo and giacinto gigante, who used the scene of the “marina” as a pretext to portray an idyllic landscape. The soft light of dawn or sunset envelops everything; the sea is calm and the city seems to rest lying on its gulf, under the watchful eye of a benign volcano.
