- Beautiful small scale 19th Century French Grand Tour patinated bronze library cabinet reduction of the ‘Colonne de la Grande Armée’ … more Beautiful small scale 19th Century French Grand Tour patinated bronze library cabinet reduction of the ‘Colonne de la Grande Armée’ in the Place de Vendôme in Paris. Originally cast from captured Austrian cannons the column was dedicated to the victorious French army in the campaign of 1805 culminating in the Battle of Austerlitz. Mounted on a black marble or slate base with a bronze picket fence. Rare small version that is a model reduction and not a thermometer. Paris, circa 1870. less
