This listing is for a pair of Glacier Vessels by John Lewis Glass. The vessels are made of polished cast glass and yellow gold leaf, and are signed and numbered by the artist.
Lewis first opened an Oakland glass blowing studio in 1969 and he has been an innovator in large-scale, site-specific architectural glass and cast glass sculpture ever since. The textural contrast between the interior and exterior of these robust vessels gives the appearance of a crystallized wedge of ice. Lewis applies other elements such as gold leaf to produce veins of color in his pieces. less
