Brass is considered a Sacred Metal in India and these Pillars are found at entrances of Palaces and Temples. They are considered auspicious when placed at entrances of buildings of Importance. These Pillars are Hand Crafted using an ancient technique that is all but lost. Very few artisans use this technique any longer, finding an Artisan with knowledge of this Craft would be difficult, which makes these Pillars all the more Rare and Valuable. This artisan craft is believed to have originated in the 10th Century to decorate palaces and homes of the nobility of India. Placed at the entrance of a home they will impart a Royal Grandeur to the room.

The Pillars are Hand Crafted using solid logs of Wood. The design is first Hand Carved onto the Wood, thereafter Brass sheeting is Hand Beaten over the wood carving and secured with small brass nails.

The Pedestal Stands are also made using the same Technique and are fully Brass Encased. The Pillars are free Standing. Very sturdy construction, built to last for generations. The Pillars have been fully restored and polished to a high gloss and professionally coated with Melamine to prevent oxidization of the brass which occurs in humid weather.

No assembly required, just tilt onto the pedestal and slide the pillar into the socket of the pedestal.
