Superb Nantes work scriban, carried out in the rules of art in the 18th century during the reign of Louis XVI. This high-quality furniture is made up of mahogany, and precious wood.
In the lower part we observe two large identical drawers over the entire length, overlooked by two smaller drawers. Their facades have a magnificent and rare Moiré mahogany, surrounded by a precious wood fillet framed by a bunch of precious wood cutting in the angles. In the center of each drawer, we find a finely carved bronze entrance representing animals, arabesques and a pearl garland. The original locks in working order are accompanied by their chopped key. Handles of Louis XVI brass prints finish adorning these drawers.
On each side of this prestigious piece of furniture we discover squares with square bases with 3 grooves stopped and underlined by a thin molding. The whole rests on 4 sleek turned feet.
This scriban chest of drawers presents in the upper part a beautiful slaughter whose Moiréa mahogany center is formed in a butterfly wing. Around, a drum of boxwood then a bunch of precious woods have a mahogany entourage of wire with tab cut. The top is made up of an identical veneer, as well as the sides with two panels.
The original locking lock is in working order. The entry also dates from the design of the furniture.
The slaughter is opening on large brass hinges. This is held in its horizontal position by two original iron compass called on their knees. The inner part is covered with a sheep's leather of wine with cold sticker, golden sticker and central pattern. This leather is new. The interior part is in solid mahogany with a slide accessing a secret cache in the center. The part of the bottom is on a oak frame. In the center two niches are surrounded on each side of 3 drawers of the same dimensions whose facades are in solid mahogany and the lenses are made of original brass. The sides and drawers' funds, assembled with Aronde tails, are in oak. Note that the dust covers between the drawers are on the entire depth of the furniture.
A true testimony to the know-how of the 18th century cabinetmakers, this 250-year-old scriban chest of drawers will charm you with its marquetry and the warm shades of mahogany essences, which will be perfectly fit into a contemporary decoration.
