The biomorphic shape of the vase is executed in a very sensual manner that heightens one’s awareness of its overall shape. The vase is masterfully conceived and is minimal in its execution. The brown-beige glazed finish reinforces the purity of its geometric form. The glaze effect is one of wonder and mystery in how the colors appear to be suspended in time. The enlarged mages truly display the magic of this piece and represent the actual glaze colors.

The shape and style of this piece is very streamlined yet organic - in a modernist sense. The mid-century modern shape of the vase is enhanced by the gestural simplicity of the glaze and the ovoid openings.

This is the work of a master potter. The vase exudes a power and individuality that is found in the time-honored techniques developed by the best of the Mid-century Modern potters. The vase is unmarked (with the exception of what appears to be a “g and a U”) but attributed based on archival documentation, such as vintage catalogs, and other literature sources.
