Within, gilt bronze pendulum with sun mascaron. Central portico seated round walnut clock case with ebonized base and crowning alabaster classicist vase motif accompanied on either side by two other small alabaster ornamental vases. Enamel dial with Roman numerals. The fact that the movement was not equipped with a bell indicates that the pendulum was made to be placed in a library, where regular chimes would have been considered disturbing. Condition: very good, min. signs of age and wear, min. abrasion, movement in working order. less
