The use of negative space in this painting is whimsical and filled with color. The artist divides the canvas into three by placing the figures off to the left and right of center. Both figures are gestural, evoking action and movement, and are connected by the bright reds, yellows and oranges that blend together beautifully to create a warm focal point. Contrast between the complementary blues creates a balance of vibrant colors. The Piece of Art is stretched canvas. Great Piece of Folk Art.
