Glass bottom with stamped marks on the pewter frame : " No 1 Swatow" , "Kwang Heng" and a rectangular stamp with Chinese characters
The most recognized Chinese pewter wares are those from Swatow ( now called Shantou) a city on the east cost of Guangdong. Swatow pewter was produced for the export market and was very popular starting in the late 1800’s
