~This stunning French ‘hunt cabinet’ or bookcase is loaded with all the features we look for in our antiques!~
~Tall and impressive, yet slender enough (22”) to fit anywhere~
~Exceptional carved details on the cabinet, please consider the photos~
~Note the high upper pediment, with a center dimensional carved Black Forest fruits, in a ‘broken pediment style, with carved foliage and thick serpentine edgings~
~Upper cabinet includes two “open” shelves with carved ivy on both of the recessed panels, and carved serpentine supports with barley twist pillars on all four sides~
~Much attention to the details, with beveled carved edges to all the shelves and stepped out supports with triple moulding~
~Lower cabinet features a Black Forest carved grapes and branch drawer handle~
~Double barley twist columns flank the lower door, which features a dimensionally carved snipe, surrounded by ivy~
~Carved lower moulding above the substantial bun feet!
~Removable wood shelf inside lower enclosed cabinet ~
~Quality throughout, well built by craftsmen of the period~
