Lovely book-matched walnut veneer running through the top and all three front drawers. Refinished with shellac french polish. Underneath the veneer is spruce softwood. The conical square tapered legs are solid walnut. Several ebonized parts. Old iron box locks. Beautiful pilaster columns with exceptional, rare carved, painted and gilded caryatids depicting mystical temple guards or priests with hoods.
