Vintage Porcelain Vase by Werner Schreib for Rosenthal Studio Line, 1960s
Abstract porcelain vase for Rosenthal, Germany, circa 1960s. White matte glazed porcelain cylinder with geometric relief decoration all around. Marked to the bottom with Printed identification back stamp: "Rosenthal Germany studio-linie" with artist’s signature and “Kunstabteilung Selb “ paper label.
Werner Schreib (1925-1969) was a German painter, print maker, and ceramics designer. Between 1967 and 1969, he designed limited edition porcelain objects for the Rosenthal Studio-Line featuring subtle geometric decoration building upon his cachetage technique. In 1959, he won the first Biennale des Jeunes Artistes in Paris.
The vase is in excellent vintage condition, with NO chips or cracks. This vase is the PERFECT addition to your Mid-Century Modern Art Pottery collection.
