French, of course, and made in the 20s of solid brass, having its (rather thin) original nickel plating from that time of manufacture. Nickel plating from that era isn't as substantial as it is today, and some of the nickel is showing through to the brass underneath, particularly on the edges, thanks to Fifi's incessant polishing. I tend to think of this as "antique patina" and NBD. But then, I'm an antiques sort of guy! This would not be for the antiques aficionado who wants everything looking brand new, oh no.

The rosewood "hooks" are in terrific condition, and the mirror is brand new (I replaced it). It tilts just by touch -- handy for seeing just how scary you look as you head out into the world. Or, upon your return, how the world has beaten you up! Or, how lovely or handsome you look going out the door, and how radiant you are upon your return, thinking of all your accomplishments and victories.

Measurements: about 34" wide overall (the top rack is 32 wide). This projects about 9 inches from the wall. Overall height, 19 1/4. The mirror measures 15 3/4 by 9. See less
