A nice and pleasant trio of swans in travertine of three different sizes; they can be used on the desk as paperweights or business card holders, or placed on a piece of furniture to become lovely and original ornaments; they were designed in the Minimalist style of Enzo Mari and Angelo Mangiarotti and produced between 1970 and 1973 by F.lli Mannelli di Rapolano (Siena-Italy), the most important company that with its centuries-old quarries, works and represents, at the highest level, the tradition in the treatment of this extraordinary and prestigious material: Tuscan travertine, synonymous with charm, elegance, simplicity, and versatility that ennobles the art of building. Travertine, extracted since the time of the Etruscans in the Rapolano basin in the heart of the Sienese Crete, starts from history to make history, in fact, this limestone, in the balance between flexibility and rigidity, has allowed and still allows the creativity of architects and designers such as the Mannelli Company to create creations of absolute value. The Rapolano Stone, as a building material, has been used in many palaces and even historical buildings in the Sienese area. The Torre del Mangia in Piazza Del Campo, the headquarters of Monte Dei Paschi founded in 1472 in Siena, are some striking examples. But the whole city of Siena is largely made of Pietra di Rapolano. Our pretty swans in addition to the preciousness of the stone, have a contemporary design, not too loaded but essential, a unique piece of furniture, refined and elegant at the same time. They are in good condition, those that may seem anomalies are only characteristics due to the natural geological composition of travertine. Measures big swan width cm.10, height cm.10, depth cm.3, medium swan width cm.7, height cm.7, depth com.2, small swan width cm4, height cm.4, depth cm.2. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects. less
