Located on a prime piece of beachfront property, Mary Faulconer's depiction of an antique store bordered by grasses and sand is a fine example of the artist's ability to capture the essence of her subjects. Depicted in a manner heavily inspired by American primitivism, the building's exterior moldings, metal roof and chimney, and large multipaned windows further emphasize the store's relation to a sleepy, historical, and wealthy beach town.
