Donning knee-high black leather boots, a steel blue uniform with black trim, and a matching hat, the policeman in this Judith Bledsoe portrait appears well-put together and regal. However, the artist's addition of the incredibly exaggerated black mustache across the upper lip of the officer contributes to the whimsy, silly effect of the work.
