This Northern European Chest is a mysterious one, I cannot quite place the style and when I had the wood … Read more This Northern European Chest is a mysterious one, I cannot quite place the style and when I had the wood tested (a sure way to find its origins, normally) it just said indigenous European Pine (that was a big help, since I figured that out on my own). Whelp, in any case, she is a beauty! I actually had her in my house in France for about 10 years, beautiful glossy patina that only time can give. The yew inlay is reminiscent of late 18th century Dutch and German motifs which made me think it was from one or the other. Constructed of walnut with yew inlays this is the perfect thing to fit into any interior style. See less
