This museum quality dish is signed made in Japan with the hand etched artist signature/writing. I believe this to made out of bronze, but I have not had it tested. Very unique and beautifully crafted- even the bottom showing exquisite craftsmanship with the swirled flowing feet. I am not sure when this was created, possibly Japanese Meiji period, Showa period, or sometime during the 20th century. See less

There is a white spot on the bottom interior- based on the shape, my guess is from a flower frog where this gorgeous dish was used with an Ikebana floral arrangement. I have not tried to scrub out as to preserve the original metal patina from years of use and age. (please see close up photo of spot) less
