Second Quarter of the 19th Century, this American gilt brass and marble lamp, often referred to as an Astral, Sinumbra, or Solar Lamp is attributed to Henry N. Hooper, Boston, New England. Likely 1820s-1840s.

This was an oil lamp that has been converted to electric, new cord, new socket with a pull chain. All colonial prisms are accounted for.

Ingenious design for uninterrupted light & a prism ring that did not have to be removed to refill reservoir.
