architect, urban planner, designer, exhibition and restoration expert, piero bottoni is among the great protagonists of rationalism. As a designer on an urban and territorial scale, he remains famous as one of the authors of two plans that marked the history of italian urban planning: the val d'aosta plan, promoted by adriano olivetti in 1936 and the a.r. Plan. (architetti riuniti) of '44-45.
all his work is an integral part of the origins of modern architecture and design. This is demonstrated, like precious cameos, by the furniture designed by bottoni between the 1920s and 1930s: seats and tables with a spirit very close to the bauhaus (the use of curved steel tube is typical).
