This Walasse Ting rare vintage 1974 Mid Century Modern fine art lithograph print " Bleue " custom framed Paris exhibition poster is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The fine art lithograph print poster is published by The Adrien Maeght Galerie Paris, printed in France in 1974 in an unnumbered limited edition by Imp. Arte Paris. It features an artwork image created by Ting titled " Bleue ", poster designed by Ting for a special exhibition of his work at The Galerie Maeght in 1974.
Walasse Ting ( 1929 - 2010 ) was a Chinese born American visual artist and poet. His colorful Expressionist paintings have attracted critical admiration, the unusual artworks are held in very high regard. Ting lived in Paris in the 1950's, there he was associated with the Avant-Garde group Cobra, later moving to New York in the 1960's where his work was influenced by The Pop Art and Abstract Expressionist movements.
He is the author of 13 books including the famous " One Cent Life " 1964, a portfolio of original lithographs by 28 artists including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, James Rosenquist, Karel Appel, Joan Mitchell and Sam Francis among many others. Artworks by Ting are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
Assisted by his son Adrien, the founder, editor, and publisher, art dealer Aime Maeght opened his infamous art gallery in 1945 in Paris France coinciding with the end of World War II and the return of many exiled artists back to France. The greatest international artists of the time were exhibited at the gallery including Georges Braque, Alexander Calder, Henri Matisse, Francis Bacon, Marc Chagall, Wassily Kandinsky, Ellsworth Kelly, Walasse Ting, and Richard Lindner among many others. In addition to the world class gallery exhibitions Maeght also is an arts publisher and printer of fine art lithography prints and posters. Maeght Editeur is recognized as one of the most important publishers of lithographs in the world, such as this exhibition poster.
The rare out of print Mid Century Modern fine art lithograph print framed Paris exhibition poster measures 21" W X 29 3/8" H X 1 1/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern recessed beveled detailed matte eggshell finish black wood frame molding with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent condition. The poster print is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age, light signs of handling, and very light surface wear.
