Charming depictions showing the growing sources and production methods of sugar, and its use in the kitchen and at the table. Each vignette is titled in French in a simple hand printed type face.
Émile Deyrolle was a French naturalist and historian in Paris. The business was founded by his naturalist grandfather, Jean-Baptiste Deyrolle who opened his shop in 1831 at 23, Rue de la Monnaie. Émile entered the family business in 1866.
