The painting is 8inches tall by 10 inches wide. The framed size is 15 and 1/2 inches tall by 17 and 1/2 inches wide and 3 inches deep. It is beautifully framed in a very sculptural frame.. I took a trip to South Saint Louis which has a very old world feeling to it. There are cobblestone street in some parts, 19th century brick row houses and stately churches with tall steeples. This is where I painted this painting.

Marina Movshina is an American artist ( born St. Louis, MO.) known for landscape painting, and for her illustrations of children’s books, as well as her botanicals. Her paintings have been selected for the exhibition of distinguished alumni at Carnegie-Mellon’s Centennial Celebration of its College of Fine Art, the Logan Center at the University of Chicago and the Harlin Museum in West Plains, MO. An elected artist member of the American Artists’ Professional League, New York, NY, she is admired for her skill as a painter and draftsman in the handling of space, depiction of light, and expert use of color. She received a B.F.A. from Carnegie-Mellon University and studied at the Art Students’ League, New York, NY, Washington University, St. Louis, MO, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL. Marina lives in St. Louis, MO.
