This James Coignard rare vintage 1975 Abstract Expressionist fine art lithograph print custom framed Mid Century Modern exhibition poster is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The Mid Century Modern lithograph print exhibition poster is published by Horizon Graphics, printed in France in 1975 in an unnumbered limited edition by the fine art lithography printer Pierre Chave Vence. It features an Abstract Expressionist artwork image by the French artist James Coignard.
James Coignard ( 1925 - 2008 ) The French painter, ceramicist and sculptor was born in The Loire Valley in France. At an early age he discovered the landscapes of The French Riviera which took him to his formal studies at The Ecole Des Art Decoratifs in Nice. In the late 1940's Coignard was acquainted with Henri Matisse, Georges Braque, and Marc Chagall, whose handling of color influenced his work and artistic development. Coignard was noted as a member of The School of Paris Movement. He traveled internationally extensively throughout his life, with numerous notable exhibitions around the world. Artworks by Coignard are included in the collections of many of the most prestigious museums including The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum New York, and The Museum of Modern Art San Francisco.
The rare out of print fine art lithograph print framed Mid Century Modern exhibition poster measures 23 1/4" W X 32 1/8" H X 1 1/2" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern matte eggshell finish mocha charcoal museum box style wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " very clean condition consistent with age and light signs of handling.
