This Theo Van Doesburg rare vintage 1988 fine art serigraph print custom framed Modernist poster " Design Arithmetique IV " 1930, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The fine art serigraph silkscreen print poster is published by Elaboration Seragraphique : A. Masciopinto, printed in Italy in 1988 in an unnumbered limited edition by Acte III, Florence. It features an artwork image originally created by Van Doesburg in 1930 titled " Design Arithmetque IV ".
Theo Van Doesburg ( 1883 - 1931 ) was a Dutch born artist, who practiced painting, architecture, writing, and design. he was one of the founders and leading theorists of The De Stijl Art Movement along with Piet Mondrian. De Stijl advocated simplified, geometric and reductive aesthetic and argued that painting, design, and architecture should be fully integrated. Van Doesburg was an educator at the famous Bauhaus School in Germany. He created Abstract paintings, designed buildings and interiors, furniture, and decorative arts that exemplified De D Stijl's aesthetic theories and his personal ideas about Geometric Abstractions. Van Doesburg's work has had a significant influence on art, design, and architecture of the Modernist movements.
The rare out of print fine art serigraph print framed Modernist poster measures 34 7/8" W X 29" H X 1 1/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a classic Modern satin finish black wood box style frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The print is in excellent " like new " very clean vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling. There is a small light smudge in the lower left corner text area. It is brand newly custom framed and has never been displayed. Please see photos for condition reference.
