Biagio is probably among the most beautiful lamps ever built, a piece of italian design history known throughout the world.
a historic and very precious piece, biagio is a direct light table lamp designed by tobia scarpa in 1968 for flos.
it is a real icon of modern design, obtained through the processing of a single block of italian marble of botticino, to obtain its characteristics sinuous and sculptural lines. A real sculpture that represents the luxury attracting at the same time attention thanks its unique form characterized by brilliant curves.
a strong impact presence in any environment: an important lamp is turned off. By day the marble shines and the effect is of great delicacy, when it turns on, it does not seem to illuminate the environment, but talking!
the light that passes the marble and characterizes its transparency by emphasizing natural veins, gives lamp an artistic, poetic and unique effect, making each piece unique and unrepeatable!
a lamp of exceptional beauty, very elegant, unique for the choice of the very precious botticino marble and the fascinating and modern silhouette. For its lines, the forms, the techniques used seems impossible to believe that it has been produced at the end of the 1960s, but the visionary genius of tobia scarpa has actually given him this icon of design that can still surprise today.
the extremely special shape of this lamp gives us two light points that allow it to illuminate the space in which it is located in a direct and important way.
the soft curves play contrasting with the solidity of marble and seem to draw the profile of the ancient fossil shells as if we were in the presence of a spontaneous and primordial light.

botticino marble is a natural stone of italian origin, a very fine grain and beige color, sometimes with splendid golden accents. Botticino marble is characterized, based on the quarry of origin and the blockade, from beautiful clearer clouds and darker veins that give personalities to the material and make it the plain material perfect for realizations with a classic and traditional character, of mediterranean footprint.
