Artist used very elevated globs of … more Amazing mid century era abstract from the 1960s depicting a seascape scene with sailboats. Artist used very elevated globs of paint in specific spots to render his subjects which in this case are sailboats in an otherwise mostly two-dimensional painting and the result is quite striking! This isolated impasto technique is further accentuated by the minimalist skies and sea which have contrasting colors but mostly void of detail. Painting is signed on the bottom right corner but the name is not completely legible although it looks to be "Ivan" to me. Walnut frame is trimmed with brass accents. less
