On their heads the caryatids carry the semicircular holding clasp in which the round mirror is suspended. Suspended at two points by means of two screws in the shape of arrows, the mirror can be swiveled; the back of the mirror, framed with a narrow, finely chiseled classicist frame, bears no other mirror glass. Very nice "Retour d'Égypte" table mirror from the reign of Charles X with fine chasing and original patina, inspired by models of famous bronziers of the Empire P.-P. Thomire, A.-A. Ravrio and Claude Galle. Condition: good, min. signs of age and use, min. abrasion, min. corroded spots on the mirror glass. less
