A pupil of Charles Glardon, Rodolphe Piguet was a painter, in oil and on enamel, as well as and engraver and etcher. First and enamel painter in Geneva, he spent several years in New York at the same time as James Vaucher, whose portrait he painted, as well as members of his family. According to and article in "The Studio" magazine, he is and illustrator for "The Aldine" and "Daily Graphic" magazines. In 1878, he settled in Paris, then in Lagny, where a street still bears his name. He regularly participates in international exhibitions. This piece has an attribution mark,
