Description: This antique/vintage, hand hammered, tinned, copper serving dish or bowl is probably from the late 1800s to the early 1900s … more This antique/vintage, hand hammered, tinned, copper serving dish or bowl is probably from the late 1800s to the early 1900s and is probably Turkish/Ottoman but there are no identifying marks. There is a "c" shaped mark in the center of the dish and a small impression that is perhaps "X4" on the very edge of the underside, but these could be random marks. There are two concentric impressed circles in the center, another about half an inch inside the flat bottom area, and some light ones around the outer sloped rim. There are clear hammer marks on the reverse. Constructed from two pieces of metal, the flat bottom piece is tightly inserted and hammered into the sloped rim. There is slight separation where these pieces are joined, so it will not hold liquid. This piece makes a stunning centerpiece and a bale is soldered to the footing creating an equally beautiful wall decoration. In addition to the age separation, there is surface loss and discoloration throughout. Measures: 13" x 13" x 1.75." less
