This Really is a Great Looking Pair of Antique American Victorian Sterling Silver Napkin Rings. LARGE SIZE!. American Made - Circa Approx. 1870s. They are Completely Hand Made. Each has an Extensive Assortment of Fine All Hand Engraved Decorated Features that are done in a Classic Mid Victorian Style. One is Presentation Engraved with the Name "Carrie" and the other has a The Monograms H. McC. One is Marked on the interior 438 S ( S Denotes Silver ). They have no Maker Marks. They have Been Professionally Tested and They Are Absolutely Guaranteed to be Solid Sterling Silver. They have a Substantial Combined Solid Sterling Silver Weight of 74.65 Grams / 2.400 Troy Ounces. They are Both Are In Very Good Condition - They are Lightly Tarnished - Could use a Good Polishing. Note! that since Each was Individually Hand Made there is a Slight Variation on the Engraved Features on Shields that Surround Carrie and H. Mc C.

American Coin Silver has a 90% - 900/1000 Silver Content, and Sterling Silver has a slightly higher 92.5% - 925/1000 Silver Content. Pure Silver is 99.9% Pure - That is to say that it Contains No Other Alloy Metals. Some of Pieces of American Coin Silver items that were produced were marked "Coin" - but it should be Noted that many of the other pieces that were produced during that period Have No Silver Mark At All. Once the Sterling Standard took hold the vast majority of the Silver Pieces that were produced by Numerous American Silver Companies were marked "Sterling".
