Description: 19th century Swedish painted pine chest circa 1838. Decorative painted folk art trunk, baring the hand painted date of 1838. … more 19th century Swedish painted pine chest circa 1838. Decorative painted folk art trunk, baring the hand painted date of 1838. Over time has faded to a desirable muted blue, with contrasting metal strap work. Delicately painted floral swag to the front surface. Traces of original paint to the lid top, which has since mostly worn away. Original hinges and metal work, no lock or key. Standing on bracket feet. Expected and clear fading to paintwork, minor losses to wood and metal work. Hinges are worn and broken but still currently functioning, these can be made more secure but offered in original condition. less
