Somewhat … more This midcentury matching sofa and chair was manufactured by De Ster Gelderland in the Netherlands in the late 1950s. Somewhat rare to find these in the States. These have been in my collection since 2008 when they were restored in Berlin, Germany. I brought them back with me and now it's time to pass them on.

De Ster Gelderland was a firm working out of the Netherlands that designed and produced some of the most elegant and ambitious Nordic modern design. These pieces, especially the sofa, seem to have an improbable stability, lacking much of the rigidifying structure one normally sees in otherwise similar designs.
