Since 1978 Pittsburgh born glass artist Edward Kachurik has been producing fine studio glass. Trained at Penland in North Carolina and Penn State University. He uses a technique of veiling- applying a metallic coating to hot glass which is then covered with clear glass binding the color into glass. For the last few decades he has focused on glass sculpture. His webpage may be of interest.
Kachurik has won numerous awards and been featured in numerous exhibitions across the U.S.A. His work has been collected by Johnny Carson, Jimmy Buffet and Fred Rogers. It is in the permanent collections of among others:
